Dr. Richard E. Boyd Jr. is thrilled to establish his new orthodontic practice at River City Orthodontics in Virginia and welcomes patients to experience exceptional, personalized care. Growing up in Columbia, SC, Dr. Boyd spent years watching his father create beautiful smiles—an experience that inspired his own path in orthodontics.

Dr. Boyd is passionate about helping patients feel confident in their smiles and is committed to delivering the highest standard of orthodontic treatment. After years of education and clinical training across South Carolina and the Northeast, he and his wife are excited to plant roots in the Richmond community.

When he’s not transforming smiles, Dr. Boyd enjoys spending time outdoors, cooking, and relaxing with his family. He looks forward to meeting new patients and continuing to provide outstanding care alongside the River City Orthodontics team.

• Met his wife, Dr. Ali Byrd Boyd, in dental school; married in 2021

• Live in Glen Allen, VA with their British labs, Lilly and Lyla
